    Hi! I just purchased one from local Leslie’s store. I’ve checked everything multiple times and everything is set and installed correctly. My problem is it won’t get up to the tile line. It makes its way half way up the wall but then the wheels just spin and it then turns and goes down. It wont make it up to the tile line. Any thoughts?

    Does the green to clean lower the ph level

  • @GuitarsAndSynths
    @GuitarsAndSynths Рік тому

    Chlorine raises ph so you will have to add some acid if you shock the pool as part of the treatment. Algaecide works with chlorine so need higher chlorine levels too.

  • @GuitarsAndSynths
    @GuitarsAndSynths Рік тому

    I get yellow mustard algae bad in spa connected to my pool and water is clear. I brush it away, add the Leslie Copper Algaecide but also found you have to add a lot of chlorine as well since algaecide works with chlorine to kill the algae. The problem with Phosphate remover is that it will quickly clog your filter! So unless you want to constantly clean that heavy filter go ahead!

    I wish the people at my local Viscount pool where I purchased this product was as informative as these guys. They never went through the process of what I was supposed to do or told me I needed to purchase the extra shocker and clarifier to add at those crucial times so all I did was dump the green to clean in and add some chlorine like the package said and nothing happened. Guess I will try the process again now that I have this helpful information.

    DEAR current or prospective MAYTRONICS / DOLPHIN CLEANER CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ ABOUT THEIR SERVICE AND PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE SCAM ** LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE: Maytronics will not sell you the carbon brushes for the main DC pump motor of their robots. This means that as a consumer you CANNOT prevent the main pump motor from failing after a few years. A carbon brush is a $10 consumable part to keep a DC motor running. This means that when you pay for a “service” they do not exercise due diligence and replace the carbon brushes while inside the control box. This means that after a few years the robot will cease working no matter what you do. THEY WILL however sell you an entire new motor, or an entire new robot... Buyer beware. You can buy brushes for your ryobi angle grinder, your Makita drop saw, your cars internal blower fan, you can buy them from the manufacturer for just about ANY dc motor, but Maytronics refuse to sell the brushes, and will only sell (via the service reps) you the diagnostics fee, an entire new motor and replacement costs. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Please ask why these were not replaced ANY time your robot is serviced. Absolutely DISGUSTING business practice. If this isn’t planned obsolescence then what is!? They will also make excuses that their system is modular unlike the competition somehow justifying this scam. They are happy to sell you an entire new robot for 2.5k, or the entire assembly, when a $10 consumable part would very likely keep the motor going and irrespective should be available for sale via the service reps and should be replaced ANY time the motor box is opened for paying customers. Tell me how this isn’t planned obsolescence and or a scam.. DEMAND access from service reps or Maytronics to buy motor brushes if yours is approaching 2.5-3 years old!!!

    • @gregs1320
      @gregs1320 2 роки тому

      Jack said: "Maytronics will not sell you the carbon brushes for the main DC pump motor of their robots." It should not be a big source of frustration. Whenever I can't find the manufacturer's replacement brushes for a motor, I just go to Amazon (or one's favorite vendor that carries such items) and buy the brushes that have the closest measurements to the ones I need. If the brush is too large in any dimension, just rub it on sandpaper that is lying flat on a table to bring it to desired size. Brush carbon is rather soft, sort of like a hard pencil lead, and sands down easily. You may need a small/inexpensive soldering iron if you don't have one already to connect it to the motor, but only if the brush connection calls for that (it may self-connect, or be screwed on, for example). I have had to replace brushes many times this way on alternators and other electric motors that use brushes. Works easily every time. I agree that robotic cleaner companies should either sell or replace the brushes, but if they don't, it should be possible to get to the brushes of a motor and change them yourself.

    • @ibsn87
      @ibsn87 2 роки тому

      @@gregs1320 it’s unacceptable to expect the average person to craft their own carbon brushes when 98% of people would take their robot to a service center and trust them to repair the robot for the least amount of money…. I am an electrician, I’ve worked on everything from grinders through to 6000hp DC motors. I’ve never had an instance where I couldn’t get brushes for a device, even some VERY old equipment. And even then, there are different grades of brushes to be aware of. It’s something that absolutely should be supplied by the manufacturer, and most certainly something that should be part of basic servicing for paying customers. Especially for modern products still being produced… But it’s not. It’s a total scam, they know that most people have absolutely no idea and most people will bring their robot into service dealers when it stops working. “Sorry ma’am the motor is stuffed, so we replaced it”. Stupidly they could MAKE money by encouraging people to bring them in for a service BEFORE it stops working.
